Eric
The Old Line Prime story begins with our founder, Eric Hoyle, and his family farm, Waverly on Chester. It’s a place rooted in family, history, and the deep agricultural heritage of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Nestled along the banks of the Chester River, just upstream from the Chesapeake Bay, Waverly has always been a farm with a meaningful past. Eric’s father, Lawrence T. Hoyle Jr., purchased the property in 1977, drawn by a desire to return to the open landscapes reminiscent of his childhood in North Carolina. Originally a dairy farm in the 1940s, Waverly later shifted to corn and soybean production, as so many farms in the region did.
For Eric, Waverly was more than a weekend escape. It was the place where he discovered his love for the land, the Eastern Shore, and the rhythms of farm life. Even as his career took him to Manhattan and Wall Street, Waverly remained the one place he always returned to for clarity, comfort, and a sense of home.
Today, after leaving New York behind, Eric is fully devoted to transforming Waverly from a traditionally managed farm into a thriving, regenerative one. It’s a long-term commitment to healthier soil, happier cattle, and a more sustainable future.
We invite you to follow along as this transformation unfolds - and to be part of the journey.
Rob
Rob and his partner Jeff have spent their entire lives raising cattle - each leading their own successful ranch - until they realized something important: by joining forces, they could offer their customers something truly exceptional. Combining their herds brought together generations of selective breeding, creating one of the most diverse, consistent, and respected herds in their region.
From that moment forward, they’ve continued to grow with purpose. Their operation has expanded, but their core values haven’t changed: unwavering quality, deep integrity, and genuine care for the people they serve.
Rob proudly stands behind every animal he raises. His breeding program is the result of decades of research, hands-on experience, and an uncompromising commitment to producing cattle with superior genetics, health, and temperament.
To Rob and Jeff, ranching is about far more than cattle. It’s about community—supporting fellow ranchers, strengthening families, and delivering beef they are proud to share with customers across the country.
Through every season and every generation, their mission stays the same: raise exceptional cattle, honor their word, and always put the customer first.
More to Come!
Eric is constantly searching for farmers with a dedication to raising the best possible beef, in a way that gives back to the soil and environment.
Our next offer will be a farmer who raises full-blooded Wagyu cattle, imported from Japan. These animals are slower to mature, smaller and stature, but with marbling that has no peers, it is worth the weight.
